About a 3rd of my ancestors come from England or there about. Scottish / Irish / English. My last name is Welsh and means son of David. I like most of the English I have run across and have some respect for the culture. It is just the whole crown thing and the bankers to. I am definitely American, but if I were to visit any place in Europe I would go to England first.
I had an English friend that was a girl. Not a girlfriend. She said that they didn't like being called a part of "Europe". Is that true?
I think the comments about immigration diluting the English culture is wrong, many immigrants contribute and help evolve the culture.
I think now though English people are more seen as hooligans than they are snobs, there is this media image that everywhere in England is controlled by gangs and violent teenagers stabbing each other and what not.
However the stories although are true, they are blown out of proportion alot and I love on a council estate and there has not been any violent crime or any knife or gun incidents in the 8 years I have lived on the estate.
