Come on people! Why is the first thing when we think of New York, is the city? Niagara Falls, the Adirondack Mountains, Far Eastern Long Island, the Erie Canal, and the Women's Movement all are major cultural, historical and geographical parts of New York State.

It is amazing to see how different they are all, and how one state can ecompanass all that.

This the dangerous part of living in a place like New York - there is so much emphasis and dependency on electrical power that the people cannot survive without it:

QUOTE
NEW YORK - A power outage struck Manhattan and the Bronx on Wednesday, knocking out traffic lights, cutting some subway service on one of the hottest days of the year. Con Edison said the blackout affected 136,700 customers in all, or more than 500,000 people. The cause was under investigation. The city was in the second day of temperatures well over 90 degrees.

New York day-by-day: Easy itineraries to maximize your visit

If you have 1 or 2 days, you'll want to devote your time to visiting museums and iconic New York attractions, as well as that most New York of activities, shopping. I recommend bringing a comfortable (yet stylish - this is a fashion capital, after all!) pair of walking shoes.

The good thing about New York is you can always fit in and get lost in the maze too. There is always something for everyone of every background.

Being an immigrant myself, I believe the JFK airport security in New York is too tight. In fact, the whole country is very tough on immigrants. All we did was get in the wrong line for the stamps, and we had to wait for an hour before we could gain entrance back into the country, plus we have green cards!
