This article made me laugh so hard. There is a British 80's compilation cd with a barcode as the cover art. Retail salers have been scanning the big bar code on the front, rather than the real barcode. The cd's were apparently being sold at discounted prices, and sometimes even rang up as a different cd.
This article made me laugh hard as well! One would think that the giant barcode on the front would obviously not be the real one to scan. The fact that this confused people in the music stores I suppose shows why they are working in a music store! Sorry for the low blow, but I still cant stop laughing at this! I suppose the one saving factor in this is that CD's don't make allot of money for the band itself. They make most of their money via concerts.
I have seen a couple of products that have had similar problems. I guess we need to put a warning label on it.. Don't scan here. (duh). It is a problem with technological progress. It progresses and our common sense diminishes. Just try to have someone count back change without the register telling them how much to give back. Comical or frightneing?
