SPIRITUALITY IN VOGUE ON COLLEGE CAMPUS

With a recent study showing a large majority of college freshmen are interested in spirituality, several campus ministry programs at Utah's universities and colleges are looking to help students strengthen their faith. Some are filled to overflowing, while others are always looking for more members.

As the world media is able to cover disasters better and better, people are naturally going to flock to the church. The church is a safe haven for hope and future to most people of any religion. Learning about spirituality helps them feel like they are closer to God or getting closer to God at least. This gives them hope in their salvation from future disasters.

I read recently, I can't remember where, that humans are "hard-wired" for worshipping a "higher power." To me, this article just reflects that fact. People are always looking for hope, help, enlightenment, answers to the really difficult questions of "Why am I here?" and so forth. I think it's wonderful.

Spirituality

I think it's wonderful! It's amazing how there are some aspects of Christianity that are being hit at so hard, yet God continues to provide a way for His name to be spoken. College students, in particular, at such a vulnerable spot in their life. I have noticed simply by observing those around me that if somebody is going to take the wrong road, and they didn't do it in high school, college will be it. College is usually that time where young adults cut loose, and it's great that some colleges are offering classes to help guide and strengthen those students.
