I am an avid Wheel of Time fan, the fantasy series written by Robert Jordan. I have been waiting for so long, and the time has finally come. Book eleven of the series is set to release October 11th, which is here in just a few days. I am so utterly excited about it that I'm even dreaming about it at night.
Is there anyone out there as into the WoT series as I am? If so I would love to have people to discuss the series with. The WoT series is the series that first got me hooked on reading, I've read the entire 13 books several times over in anticipation for this upcoming release. I know I will be one of them in line outside of Sam Goody on that Tuesday morning.
On a scale of 1 to 10 I would rate it about a 9. I mean some people dont like the complexity of the story but I am a BIG fan of grand scale stories like epic fantasy and space opera.
I was a fan of the story. However, after reading the 4th or 5th book in the series, and waiting for a couple of years for the next one to come out, I gave up on it. I found that I couldn't even start to reread the series.
That is too bad, because it is a very complex, interesting story. I think it would have been better if it was broken up into a few trilogies, each being able to stand alone to a certain extent.
I think what makes the WoT series so great to me is because when the characters are going through something emotional I actually feel the sorrow or anger. Jordan just has a way of making his characters seem like flesh and blood.
I love this series other than it's not complete yet. I read very quickly and when I have to wait so long in between books it drives me crazy. So, I've told everyone that if they want to recommend a series of books, it HAS to be done before I start it! I can not be patient! I don't know how many times I've re-read these books to get refreshed on the story before I read the new book. I've decided to quit reading them for now until he's DONE with the series! So, please don't spoil it for me and tell me something that happened in one of his latest books!

I absolutely loved the series. I read the first one after checking it out of the library three or four times and was completely spellbound. I bought the next three and honestly couldn't put them down. When I got to the 5th though it started to get harder for me to read them. Jordan writes with so much detail that it gets boring after there's no dialogue for 4 to 5 pages. I'm hoping to start up again once I have some free time.
I started reading them when the first book came out way back when. I enjoy the detail of the world and the characters. The series was supposed to be three to five books at the maximum. Then it turned into the Energizer pink Bunny and kept going and going... I now buy each hardbound on clearance a year later when it is less than the cost of a paperback. Even with a good memory, there is much that I just vaguely remember. When I retire, I will start re-reading them...
