Jupiter Ascending (Hover)
Jupiter Jones was born under a night sky, with signs predicting that she was destined for great things. Now grown, Jupiter dreams of the stars but wakes up to the cold reality of a job cleaning other people's houses and an endless run of bad breaks. Only when Caine Wise, a genetically engineered ex-military hunter, arrives on Earth to track her down does Jupiter begin to glimpse the fate that has been waiting for her all along - her genetic signature marks her as next in line for an extraordinary inheritance that could alter the balance of the cosmos.
Some of my views are also expressed here: Jupiter Ascending vs Matrix. Jupiter Ascending had the potential to be a great film but its almost a flop. Why did they have Mila Kunis in such a major role? No, no, no... She is good for romantic comedies not a movie where you want to cause awe and excitement. They needed to have someone more 'sharp' and without that 'air headed' aspect they gave the role Jupiter Jones they gave her. Jupiter Jones went from scrubbing toilets to ruling the galaxy in a poorly edited untied group of acts that just did not make you feel anything for the characters involved. It was like reading a graphic novel where you counted on the pictures more than the words to give you a feel for what was happening. I had high hopes for this film but was sorely disappointed.
