If the North and the South in the United States were able to bury the hatchet, North and South Korea could do the same. And on Wednesday the two countries took a step in the right direction by agreeing to combine athletes and send just one, united team to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Sports Reunification

That is a good move and is most likely part of recent US / NK discussions. it may also have been a strategic move on the part of NK to avoid any kind of discrimination against their participants.

East and West Germany were able to do this, and do it successfully. The combined German teams have done very well in the recent Summer and Winter Olympics.
