Skitch Henderson Dies

Skitch Henderson, the Grammy-winning conductor who lent his musical expertise to Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby before founding the New York Pops and becoming the first "Tonight Show" bandleader, died Tuesday. He was 87.

Of all the things I enjoyed about this man was his cool demeanor in front of the camera, yes, he was talented, but he also had a knack for handling Letterman's jabs pretty well. I was not aware he was so old.
