I am not sure if you are asking whether the mood we have in our profile at the time is a reflection of our posts, or whether the tone of our posts are reflective of our current mood? If it is the first, you may have noticed I havent changed my profile mood since I entered the forum. If it is the second, I would have to say yes, and anyone who says otherwise is not true to themselves. Even though we may not be able to see and interact with each other, it is quite easy to pick out someones mood from their posts, only if their mood is exaggerated, ie, they are very angry, depressed, happy, etc. I try not to lend my mood to my posts as much as possible, unless it is a blog entry, but sometimes it is hard not to.
I believe Persephone is pointing towards our current Mood status as chosen via our control panel and not the exact mood you are in while writing a specific post. As for me, I use the Mood selection for how I feel in General, but not for specific times.
I don't change my mood daily, but if I think it is warranted, I will make the change. So, if my mood says I am irritated, you can probaby guess I am. If my mood says something good, it probably means that one chosen good mood is good enough. If it is a good mood and I am in a less than good mood, I will take the time to change my mood. Same in reverse as well.
I never changed my mood since I joined - the only time I thought about doing so was when I got -1000 from the lottery, I was really depressed. But after a day it was gone.
But, yes, I guess you can see from most of my posts that I am 'carefree' - not that I don't care about the topic, but in general, I don't have much worries. I could hae put optimistic as well.
Right now my mood is irritated because that's exactly how I feel. I love the fact I can change my mood in my profile.
Offtopic but, I burned my hand with hot oil while preparing lunch, right now I'm typing with one hand, my left one, the other one is soaked in cool water...I'm so irritated |
