East Asian Regional Grouping

NZ, AUST WILL 'NEVER BE PART OF ASIA'

New Zealand and Australia will never truly be part of Asia, despite their membership of a new East Asian regional grouping, Malaysia's Prime Minister says.

Grouping Regional Asian East

I don't think the Australian government wants to be a part of Asia just yet. Howard is too punch drunk over his relationship with Bush.

But maybe in the future another government might want to make inroads into Asia. It makes a lot more sense. Both Australia and New Zealand stand to gain a lot economically by being a part of Asia. The question is whether the vastly different ideologies of both regions can co-exist.
