PATIENTS PAYING EXTRA FOR LUXURY CHECKUPS
When he turned 50, Steven Jackson decided it was time for a complete physical. But instead of going to his usual doctor, he spent $2,000 for a daylong assessment at a cushy health center loaded with amenities.

Frankly, if I had the money to spend, I would do it. "Modern" health care in the U.S. frustrates me. It often takes months to get an appointment, and then it takes weeks to get test results. As an example, I recently had a routine physical that required blood tests. It took over two weeks to receive the results of the tests -- and then, the doctor had a nurse call me with the information rather than calling personally. In addition, the doctor would like for me to have a mammogram. Well, I can't even get an appointment for that until three months from now! If they are that backlogged, how long will it take to get the results?
A new trend that is taking Southern California by storm is the private MRI testing. You can buy package deals where certain sections or systems of the body are examined, or you can get the entire body deal for something like $500. There are so many conditions and diseases that are silent or subtle or unseen, it seems a good idea to me to see periodically what's happening. If, of course, money is not an object
I would love to spend the day in what is essentially a "spa" atmosphere and have all my questions answered at once.
Oh yes, if I was rich I would definetly pay for it. Going to the doctor is not usually something we enjoy, but if you can be tested in a nice environment, why not?!. I would definetly do it if I could afford such a thing.
