I don't have a special book, nor do I record my dreams anymore. However, I used to do it once in a while in my regular journal when I was a teenager, I think they were usually just the dreams about guys I had a crush on! Of course, those are the only dreams that are important when your 14, right?
I believe in dreams. I also believe that the Spirit tells us what dreams are significant, and which can be ignored. My dreams have become so important to me that I record those that I am impressed to record in my journal, which amounts to just about every dream I can remember when I wake up. These are few, since I don't remember most of them. More important than simply recording one's dreams is seeking an interpretation. I often relate every detail recalled from a dream to my father, who is full of wisdom and very in touch with the promptings of the Holy Spirit. I trust his interpretations to be sound, but I don't use them as a "predictor" or "determination" of what happens or has happened in my life. His interpretations are encouraging, giving me strength to press on and remain faithful and hopeful. It also helps to pray for guidance in interpreting one's dreams. I don't trust myself to interpret them well, but it's amazing the kind of information you can get by just pondering and praying about a dream you believe has a significant message for you or someone else.
Heavenly Father speaks to us in many ways, one of which I believe to be through our dreams. Like everything else of a spiritual nature, we must have His Spirit to discern His voice and know the difference between dreams resulting from a tummyache or full bladder as we sleep, and those that can act as a warning or type of encouragement. It's not easy living so that one can worthily have the promptings of the Spirit everyday, but it sure is worth it, not just for the sake of having meaningful dreams, but for the overall enrichment of a truly blessed life.
Isn't life grand?
