Riddle Of The Corpse Bride

Riddle of "corpse bride" draws crowds

Is the tall, slender bridal figure in the window a richly detailed shop's dummy or, as a local legend says, the decades-old embalmed corpse of the former store owner's daughter?.

That is just great, discounting the whole mystical significance, that is one richly detailed mannequin, I think that the level of detail having lasted this long would make people realize that it's not real. Whether it is or not, you can't deny that this is great for sales.

I think it is a nice tribute, and people always love stories like these. People loved to be spooked or to find a story of hope and mystery. I remember being little in school and we would always take any little thing and blow it out of proportion. For instance, if a door was blown shut by itself, we would manage to devise an entire ghost story out of it.

I wish they would have had a picture of the entire "corpse bride" just to be able to see the details. The description said that there are even veins in it.

Thats just creepy. There are bodies that have been so well preserved that they look like the person is still alive, even though these bodies my be extremely old (check Ripley's). I really like the story though. It is always interesting to see how myths begin, especially myths in our now present day. I wish I could see some of the details the story was talking about, so hopefully they will do a follow up.
