You just never know what a sicko will have in his home. A person that is suicidal is usually capable of anything, but thankfully the police were on the nose here.

One of the teens that was arrested has a father that is a Trinidadian (moved to Canada some years ago). Many of his friends are surprised that he was accused of the crime because most of the groups he is a part of is Peace based groups. He also lives in an upscale community in Canada.

Here is a commentary on the recent terrorism arrests in Canada. Keep in mind that the author, Rachel Marsden, is very conservative, and this is definitely her point of view.
However, it does bring up some good questions. Why, if Canada is so very liberal and welcoming and friendly to Muslims and Muslim causes, was Canada targeted by Muslim terrorists?

(Without reading the above link there are some things to me that are obvious) Well, aren't they in Afghanistan and Iraq? Don't they side with the US on most issues? My own theory too is that the US is becoming more secure and the Canadian border between the US more difficult to breach, but not so with the Canadian borders, but they are trying to change that. In the mean time, while Canada thinks herself a 'welcoming host' wouldn't that be the right time to strike?
