The biggest advantage that I was able to figure out is to remember that the distance your mouse is from the cue the harder you hit but also it seems to give you more control over the ball. Not sure if this actually is true to the game but it seemed to help when I lined up the shots.

Key to the game is the break, and never hit it to hard. The cue ball loves to scratch, especially on breaks, so don't hit to awefully hard.

This is lots of fun but very tough. There is absolutely no luck involved and some that I thought were sure shots ended up missing. The trick is getting a feel about how hard to hit the balls, it has to be just right.
