Can You Name Santa Reindeer? - Page 2

QUOTE (Valla @ 12-Dec 06, 9:56 PM)
the song, "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer." All who have answered are from the United States. I'm curious, is this song very popular outside of the United States?

This song is very well known to the UK, as is also the story book "Twas the night before Christmas" where as you stated the names originated.

Also as the song is popular to the States, we as Brits are influenced through the Christmas films that we watch that happen to be around 90% American made!

Reindeer Santa You Can

Name: Waylander

Comments: Now I may be mistaken, but in German, Donder is actually Thunder. At least it is in Dutch/Afrikaans

Can You Name Santa's Reindeer?

You have 10 seconds. If you could do it then tell us how come you have this so well committed to memory. If you could not, tell us which ones you did remember.

Name: Crystal

Comments: I'm from Australia and I too know the names from the song but I always forget Cupid it just never sounds right maybe cause its the last one but it doesn't have the sing song as the others.

Comments: "Blitz" means lightening in German. "Blitzen" is the verb form of Blitz (meaning flashing or twinkling). "Donner" means thunder in German. "Donder" means thunder in Dutch.

Can You Santa Reindeer - Page 2

Name: Gordie

Comments: Here's a revelation: You have all erred. The original says the name is "DUNDER." I have read the story to many children in the persona of Santa Claus over the years and have a copy of Moore's words. Merry Christmas to you all.

Comments: Technically, the reindeer is named Donder not Donner. It is a common misconception.
