Do you have an unusual way of eating your food? Here are some interesting but known ways:
1. Start from the inner part of the plate and eat outward
2. Eat each portion of food without mixing them together. An example would be: on a plate are chips, chicken and salad, the person eats all the chips, then all the salad, then all the chicken.
3. Eating a spoonful, resting the fork down, waiting, picking up the fork again and starting the process all over again.
4. Bringing an inanimate object to the table like a teddy bear or picture of someone
5. Mummbling strange things while eatting
6. Talking to the food as you eat it

2 and 4 would fit me. I hae this bug that I need to keep my hands constantly active, so I either play with the fork or a bottle of water without noticing .
Speaking of bottles of water, I have a bug on that too. My mouth is too big, so I can't drink out of a bottle and leave a space for air to get in. as a result, the bottle gets crunched as I drink, and I have to remove it, let the air come out, and then drink again. So annoying .

I have a very good friend who cannot allow any food on his plate to touch any other other food on his plate. If it does, he won't eat it. He wonders now as an adult whether it is due to his mother using "compartment" plates when he was a child, or whether his mother bought those plates to make sure he would eat! He is a funny guy, and I often will mix foods on my plate when we're having dinner together just to see his reaction. It really annoys him
My dad will take equal bites of everything on his plate, and often a little bit of everything on his fork at the same time.

It reminds me of a book I read. I forgot what it's called. 'THe unusual mystery of a dog at nighttime" or something of the sort.
It's about an autistic boy that one of his unusual traits were that he couldn't eat anything that had red and yellow next to eachother. For example, a hotdog with ketchup and mustard. How can you miss that!
Food is my weakness in life.
I always have people make fun of how I eat. Mainly because I don't miss a beat when I eat my food. My boyfriend will pick on me all the time because I won't bring my food to my mouth, I'll take my mouth to my food. Which is probably how I can manage to eat with such a steady beat.
I combine things. If I have mashed potatoes and chicked, the potatoes go on the chicken. A friend of mine and I went to a restaurant once, and I had gotten chicken tenders. I had a couple left over when we ordered a Caramel pie for dessert. For the record, chicken tenders and caramel pie are REALLY good.
I'm also a really picky eater. So I will sit there and hunt things I don't like. Which everybody, except my mom **ponders**, find terribly amusing. It takes me half an hour to eat a bowl of chili.
**Sigh** Good times...
My sister does not mix food either. She has a methodical way to eat it. She eats in a circle. She will start at the top of her plate and work her way around. It takes her twice as long to eat. It is rather amusing to watch her eat.
