My best knowledge of Oklahoma is Grand Lake. The fishing on grand lake is absolutely wonderful. Not only is it large and full of great fish, but it provides rental boats, cabins, and a crappie bed for beginners. Oklahoma definently provides on of the midwest premier fishing joints.
Oklahoma History & Civil Business Politics
Oklahoma got it's name from the words "okala humma" which means "red people" in the Choctaw (Chahta) language. The Choctaw tribe was just one of the many tribes who were forced down into this state during the Indian removals. Many cities in Oklahoma are named after tribes or words in tribal tongues. Many of the people that I have known from Oklahoma have lived in rural areas. Some enjoy themselves by riding four wheelers and going to rodeos, but not all do the typical "southern activities". Oklahoma is known for it's college football.
