TV6 News featured the story of Margaret Kistow setting up a home for abandoned and abused children 26 years ago without government help. It costs TT$15,000 for her to maintain the home with transportation being the biggest issue because the 32 children have to get to and from school / church. Most of the children were brought to her via the police, social services and even the parents themselves who no longer wanted the responsibility. An amazing story - more amazing that no government up to this day has done anything to help! This should not be a private thing or even sponsored by NGOs.
