Portugal - Page 2

Portugal must be a really nice place to visit. Do the men from Portugal all resemble your football team? What kind of visa is needed for an American to go there?

Clara, we send only the ugly ones to the football team.
I don't think it is necessary any special visa to come here. We have no enemys, so we have no worries about that. You'll be most welcome.

They are also quite humble for what I see. laugh.gif

Everything I heard about Portugal is great, now my question is with regards to the language, it's the exact same Portuguese that they speak in Brazil or slightly different?

Hi, LDS.

It is slightly different. Our words are very similar, but the sintaxe is slightly different. The accent is the bigger difference, brazilian are more expressive and we are more contained.

And we're much more humble! rolleyes.gif

Frederico, what about races? Is there a lot of diversity? How do they get along with each other?

Portuguese are very pacific and adaptative, we develop good relationships with everybody. Even in the field of diplomacy, we are very good mediators.

We have a long history of relate to others, and always seek the friendly way.

Comparing to other countries in Europe, we don't have many foreigns. Maybe less than 10%. Mostly from Cape Verde, Brazil, and most recently Ukraine.
There are problems, of course.. But nothing serious.

Interesting because I imagine the country to have lots of foreigners actually and a big mixture of races. Do you guys support Brazil if Portugal loses in a match? Just curious if the language they share also means something more for Portuguese people.

Yes, normally we do. But I think that was more in the past than now.
Brazil is independent since 1822, but we had ever a big community there, and now they have it here. They have many jokes about the portuguese...
Brazilian are a mix between portuguese, africans and indians, so we share a good deal of DNA.
