INTEL UNVEILS NEW LOGO IN BRAND OVERHAUL
SAN FRANCISCO: Intel Inside is out. The world's biggest chipmaker has said it will scrap its 37-year-old "Intel Inside" logo as part of a major rebranding that will emphasise its shift away from its core PC business into consumer products.

I personally am not sure about this new branding idea that Intel is so into this year. They have been working on this product for some time as my Intel Rep has been leading me in this direction for some time now. AMD has rose in the market tremendously these past few years and Intel is struggling to keep them from taking over too much of the pie. I am fearful for Intel in this decision because I am not sure this is the best decision for this to make. And this upcoming year is going to be crucial for them to stay on top of the competition.
With AMD pounding hard at the door, I think its a bad idea to change their logo at this time. Companies work for years to come up with a logo as recognizable as Intels' and they are going to change it? Bad marketing, or do they know something we don't?
Perhaps Intel is setting itself up to more closely show its alignment with Apple? The entire Mac community is excited about the possibilities of OSX on Intel processors, because OSX is much lighter weight than Windows, much more secure, and rock solid as an operating system. So, maybe since "Intel Inside" is so closely identified with Windows computers, this change will show that Intel isn't only about Microsoft.
