What do you know of the Comic Character called, "Nighthawk"?
Nighthawk is a comic book superhero in the Marvel Comics universe, and a member of the Squadron Supreme. There are actually several different Marvel incarnations of Nighthawk, one of whom was briefly a supervillain, but quickly became a hero. Nighthawk was created by Roy Thomas as part of an homage to the Justice League.

I didn't really get into Nighthawk until Max comics started their run with him. Of course, it was a different style, more like batman, and much bloodier than in the past. He is a very edgy "hero" who comes very close to being a villain, but is definitely a vigilante type character. He has allot of hate towards others not of his race (black) because of a hate crime that killed his parents when he was young. As a result, he now fights crime his own way, giving the justice his parents never had. But being such, he has run ins with both heros and villains.
