How Do I Know If My Tooth Is Dead?

If you had a tooth with a dead nerve would it be sensitive to pain?

If the nerve is truly dead, you shouldn't feel "pain" but you can feel some sort of "pressure". Maybe your tooth is not completely dead. Keep in mind also that one tooth has several nerves, so maybe one nerve is dead but the rest is not.

What the person above said is right because I know someone with the same problem. The tooth became dark and then they did not feel any pain, later they found out it was dead. Doesn't everyone just love dentists?

To truly know you need a dentist to check it out with warm / cold tests and they also have an electrolysis of the tooth nerve.

If you don't feel it anymore then that's a sure way to know its dead. The dentist usually taps it and asks you if you can feel that and if you can't then its dead.
