![ICon Kingmaker Pathfinder Rules, Setting, Question ICon Kingmaker Pathfinder Rules, Setting, Question](/board/YaBBImages/icons/pencil.gif)
Okay. That makes the rule, like, 5 times better than I originally thought. Losing wealth by level is a fair trade off. I believe most adventuring groups would distribute magic items to the ones who most need it.
I will tell my tabletop Kingmaker group when it comes off hiatus.
I'm just having trouble figuring out what tasks could be performed to gain that XP. Oleg can pay for repair and farm work, but that's not really adventuring.
The Ultimate Campaign book (P. 85) makes it seem like it's more of a behind the scenes thing - the character just goes off to adventure and the whole thing is hand waved into existence by the Dungeon Master. It's just like spending downtime to Earn Capital in that regard - the player just chooses which capital to earn, in this case XP instead, and it happens by Dungeon Master fiat. You could say something like "You go out and spend X days adventuring, facing challenges that you manage to overcome each day. Earn ## XP." If you want to be more detailed, I'll have it so I adventure near Oleg's and can make it back each night. Then you could just roll up a random encounter for the area, describe it if you want, and still have me back in time for dinner
As far as wealth goes, I think I'll be okay since I'm taking Craft Wondrous Item at level 3. There might be some things the party needs that I can make instead of us having to order them. Sure I spend some money creating the item, but the rest of it can go toward me playing catch up. Edited: Diarmadhim on 13th Jul, 2015 - 8:54pm
Dear Dungeon Master Icon, how can I make it up to level 4 as fast as possible without much drama?
How much to roll for HP?
How many skill points to apply and can they be applied to current skills?
What's my benefit of having a masterwork bow as in bonuses?
ICon used the variant rules to allow us to gain XP during downtime in order to catch up with the person with the highest XP (Theaton).
ICon, were you having us do 1/2 our Hit Die + 1 + Con Modifier for hit points? That's how I calculated mine... Let me know if I need to change it!
You get skill points depending on what the class you're levelling states. Example: I'm a Summoner. I just hit level 2 so I gain 2 + Int modifier skill points (+1 more for being human, and another +1 if I choose to use my favored class option). The first page of your class will have a CLASS SKILLS section (It'll be all caps like that). Look for the bold Skill Ranks per Level: and it will tell you how many skill ranks you get for gaining a level.
A masterwork bow gives you a +1 to attack rolls (Not damage).
I hope I was helpful
Luckily, Pathfinder is designed so that you can start a character at any level. So jumping from 2 to 4 is possible.
Refer to the table in the Fighter class. The BAB and saves indicate the total at that level. +4 is you BAB, to which you add Strength for melee attacks, and Dexterity for ranged. Similar deal for the Base saves.
The class features in the table are cumulative, so you get everything at level 4 and below. Lots of bonus combat feats!
Then look in the Character Advancement chapter. At level 3 you should have had a feat, and at level 4 you get an ability score increase.
For the rest, Diarmadhim was right. Excellent explanation.
If you're at a loss as to what to pick, it may be worth your time to search online for a Pathfinder fighter guide, or similar search terms.
After you post up your character sheet (Please do) I can show you my criteria that I will use to double check.
Couple of things - what was the DC for the Perception check on those bear traps? Caelum's lowest roll was a 19 and we have a telepathic link that he would use to warn me - plus he would have verbally warned everyone instantly. He was riding ahead to scout (I think I mentioned that's what he does in a previous post). Also, when I was hit by the arrow - did that include the +4 AC I got for dropping prone? If so, then I'm at -2 hit points right now. Caelum instantly vanishes because I am unconscious. I will start making stability checks upon your answer. Edited: Diarmadhim on 10th Aug, 2015 - 11:13am
The DC is secret. The roll of 19 was for the one in front of Archival, his other checks prevented Midnight and Mykael from also getting chomped.
I didn't get a distance for how far ahead, and I assumed everyone is moving a little chaotically in a blob.
I can't remember the exact roll for the arrow, I think it was just above the AC (A 13 I think). However Archival hadn't acted yet in the round. They matched your initiative, with a higher modifier. It's just how the dice fall.
Even unconscious, you still managed to stop them from peeling back.
