Kresnik can cast Cunning with his own spell slots via the Arcane Enlightenment trick. Casting it every day therefore isn't a problem, and the opportunity cost of locking that spell choice down for a month is certainly fair in my opinion.
Would you also require Archival to be there every day for Aid Another to apply? That might be a little more problematic, as he's a busy man, though at least it looks like it wouldn't make a difference this time.
Concerning crafting, if that is the case then it looks like it would be considerably more efficient in the long run for him to start earning nonmonetary capital for his own magic related business via the downtime rules. Makes sense given the context as well for him to see such an opportunity I think. Unfortunately, those rules appear excessively convoluted, and the SRD resource is poorly written. (I can't even find any listings for the actual mechanical benefits a building has) I don't suppose you know of a better resource for getting a handle on the details?
The Ultimate Campaign book is the go to book for all your downtime needs. It will list template buildings and what rooms are in those buildings. You can add or remove rooms at your leisure. Each room lists the type of income it can earn.
Well, that is a great trick to have for crafting!
I would need Archival there every day, but as mentioned before, the month of Erastus is very busy for everyone so the Lyre will be finished at the end of Arodus, your settlement's first month.
So you intend to run a kingdom and a business, craft magic and go adventuring? While possible, the rules don't mix well. It would be easier to just assume you have one and build city lots of the appropriate type. Secondly, I think that you would run out of time.
Actually, going back to your first idea of commissions, I shouldn't have rejected it offhand. You could actively try to find NPCs who want things. Or you could build things for your kingdom - simple things that unimportant NPCs would want. You can even write up the NPCs within your kingdom.
Not quite so ambitious as all that.
I have some time set off for the sake of crafting, I had first thought simply to use it for the sake of making things to sell when not using it for myself or the party.
Then when you nixed that idea, I thought to get more involved in the role of Magister by pouring that time and effort instead into the creation of what would eventually become a grand academy. If eventually he gets to a point where he's earning some profit from that investment, who could fault him?
But in any case, just let me know what you have in mind.

Any chance I might request a Oathbound Paladin, using the Chosen One archetype and Oath of the People's Council? Both are official and not 3rd party. Maybe such a character could be of use in the party, though her play style will be a fair bit different then what would be expected of most Paladin.
She would be a young woman, something of a Diplomat style character with a bit less focus on combat at least in part because of her uncertainty in battle and youth. A follower of Sarenrae, who would actually seek to convince others to her way of thinking and focus more on her goddess' redemption aspect then being a warrior.
Sorry for my lack of posting; I haven't gone anywhere I'm just not certain about how to proceed at this point. I feel like I'm waiting for something to react to and not sure what my character should be doing right now or what I should be posting about.
Aeric, feel free to interact with Jesla. Most of the policy making is way out of Jesla's realm of understanding. There's really nothing I can do with her regarding that. I'm just trying to use this time for her and the other characters to get to know each other a little bit. She has a sparring session set up with Theaton for example.
Kyr, Kntoran is applying a -4 penalty to his attack modifier, which is what you're supposed to do when trying to deal nonlethal damage.
As these are wooden weapons, I would likely have assumed they deal nonlethal by default without the attack penalty, but with reduced damage (As it is with the Sap). But that would technically take Dungeon Master fiat.
