Unfortunately, level 1, but you will probably be adjusted to level 5 soon, so plan for it. I'll try to grant you good XP in your prologue before you join with the party. Please read the Player's Guide (Note that it's one of the earlier adventures when there were only the core classes) and I like a good character backstory.

Cyrus is quite a sight to behold. Standing 3'2", and weighing in at 37lbs, he is quite small. Striking white hair seemingly stands on all ends, unkempt and wild, he often wears smoked goggles over his bright blue eyes. His clothing is something of note, as he keeps to mainly plain looking clothing while on the job, as to remain unnoticed, but enjoyed bright blue and green when on his downtime.
Cyrus Wyndwild was what some would call a troubled child. Never knowing his parents, he had to grow in the school of hard knocks. The street was not unkind to Cyrus, and gave him plenty of time to meet friends, colleagues, and even loves. Shortly after peuberty, Cyrus began to notice strange happenings that would shape himself and his immage forever. At first, nightmares started and he would wake up to shattered crates and chairs. Later noticing that in moments of high emotion, the very walls shook! He has spent the last few years working for one of the thieves guilds out of Brevoy, honing his skills in the unseen hand.

I'm assuming this will be a gnome probably, (Or halfling). You can start doing your stats for him, the campaign specific rules are in the first post of this thread.
Kineticist is a cool choice, but from my discussions with friends it seems heavily combat focused. It sounds like your character will probably have more skills to add utility (On top of the utilities already in the class) which is good.
And I definitely can work your backstory into the game! I take it he's well travelled and hasn't done missions in just one town?
Heck, if you want a rogue dip for skills and the Trapsfinding class feature I'll even let you start at level 2 (Sorry everyone else, but it is an sub-optimal choice. Still 0 BAB!) But that's limited to taking 1 level of Rogue, Ninja, Unchained Rogue or other class archetypes that gain Trapfinding at level 1 (Seeker, Trapper, Crypt breaker, Sandman, etc.).

All good now! Every detail polished up and correct, except equipment which I still have to do a spreadsheet for. Delays and more delays.
Gnomes should have a thirst for new experiences, so it's good that he travels. They actually die without excitement in their lives, though that's only lore and there's no mechanic to ensure that.
I'm a little unclear, are you using the Psionics books for your class? Or the Kineticist from the Occult classes?
Unfortunately both Far Hand and Mage Hand specify an unattended object as the target. You could possibly go for classic arcane casting and build towards the Arcane Trickster prestige class. They get a Ranged Legerdemain ability.
