"I know nothing of bandits, trolls, dragons, fey, wisps, and especially living plants. Though, I do not go looking for trouble, I am rather against violence but in this case I can make an exception... This city seems to be rather troubled by these dangers and if I can save even a few innocents with my efforts than my life was worth living and my journey was a success"

Aliora was unsure if she should blush or frown at the woman's last statement but decided to take it as a compliment. "Yes, I know I am different but it takes different people to make a changes, am I right? You seem to be confident in my abilities so do you know where this location on the parchment is? I need to talk to someone about accepting this job, I at the very least owe them an introduction"

The remains look to have been hacked at multiple times by small knives, as though quickly and messily butchered for meat. The small saddle has a torn strap, nothing that couldn't easily be repaired. You note that a human or elf wouldn't even be able to fit their feet in the stirrups.

Looking around the forest floor, you notice two sets of faded paw prints, and a set of small footprints going away from the body. You pass the saddle up for Brute to sniff and, after a bit of pushing, lead him to the trail to start. You can barely make out the tracks from your mounted position but Brute is unable to find the scent, so you lead him the correct way. For a mile they lead Northwest into the forest, curving around ponds and into clearings at points. After 20 minutes and about a mile, the trail grows fainter. You are now stuck in the forest, but believe you have your bearings.

Out of Character: Survival is based off Wisdom, so you can add your wisdom modifier. The table is for me to set the challenge of the trail. I can reveal without spoiling the fun that the DC was 15. Brute is using his scent ability, so the modifier is different. Every mile a new check must be made.
Oh, I just realised that untrained you can only track a trail with a DC 10. I'll just leave it as is for now and say you cannot continue. Brute cannot achieve his DC even by taking 20.

"I am not sure of the exact plan for the new barony," Replies Mallius. "But I am led to believe the chief advisory roles, such as treasurer, general, magister and high priest, among others, will be available. Of course, the looting rights extend to the bandits' possessions. There is no chance we can send lawmen and knights out there to collect evidence anyway. The charter I'm about to give you explicitly states your responsibilities with regard to banditry. Hmm, not here." He closes the drawer under his desk

Striding over to a shelf he begins flicking through pages, muttering, "Nope, no. The other one, no, not that." He strides over to a cabinet on the other side of the room. "No, no, A-HA!" He holds a page triumphantly. "Here, the exploration charter! Signatures, 1, 2, 3, check. Seal is missing... And it has to be a Swordlord's seal... Here, have a read while I go and find one and wait here."

He hands you the charter that can be read in the first post of this topic. He leaves for a full 20 minutes leaving Theaton alone in his room.

The dirt trail takes you Eastwards in the general direction of Restov. 3 hours and 12 miles later, you come to an intersection. A dirt road, well traveled, stretches north-south through the grassy hills and plains. You know to the north you will travel two days to get to New Stetven. To the south is a route to Restov via a small, unmanned fort.

Out of Character: Very well written introduction! No need for a Ride check for normal travel. If you read the skill description, it states when it should be used.

Euphoria

"Greenbelt is south of here," She replies, "But it stretches for a couple of hundred miles to the east and west."

"OH! You meant the offices! Yeah, I can show you. But if I'm to be your guide in the city, specially since I'm helping you find a job, I'll need a coin or two. They won't let me close to the offices either, but I can get close enough. You however... You should tidy up and find a cloth to cover that eye. I don't know if you'll be impressing any official looking like that."

Once you are prepared, she leads you not very far through busy streets to a structure built like a keep, but blended in to fit with the buildings on either side. Two uniformed guards stand at the front. Only then does the woman hold out a hand, a desperate plea visible in her eyes.

Sessativa thinks better of pursuing the tracks and decides that she should backtrack and try to find Gallian. She doesn't have time to continue this course anyway. Sessativa points Brute back the way she came carefully searching for any sign of Gallian or his men.

Prologue Pathfinder Path Adventure Kingmaker ICon

Tarak and Jax approached the road that runs between New Stetven and Restov. Tarak knew the road fairly well, as he and his father had made several trips to Restov over the years. Nightfall was approaching fast, so Tarak decided to stop for the night. He found a nice spot a few hundred yards off of the main road behind a small hill that would keep him and Jax hidden from any travelers. He left Jax saddled in case he needed to make a quick escape and prepared his bedroll for the coming night. Tarak was thinking about lighting a small fire, but decided against it so he would not attract any unwanted attention to his hidden campsite. As Tarak enjoyed a dinner of bread and cheese, Jax grazed on the grass that was around the campsite. As he ate, Tarak thought about the adventures that lay before him, and what they would mean for himself and his family. When his belly was full, he secured Jax to a nearby stump and drifted off to sleep with one hand on his axe.

Tarak awoke the next morning just before daybreak, and lit a small fire to shake the chill from his bones as he ate breakfast. After he was full, Tarak gathered up his supplies and he and Jax continued their trip South to Oleg's.

Out of Character:: The second paragraph are my actions if I had an uneventful night. Here is a perception roll in the event that I was disturbed.
1d20=20

I am guessing that I ate 1 loaf of breaf and 1/2 hunk of cheese for dinner and breakfast leaving me 3 loaves of bread and 1 1/2 hunks of cheese. Does this sound about right?

Theaton will remain standing until he gets back. HE will not look through anything. Once Mallius gets back and he has had time to read the notice again to make sure nothing was added or deleted and that seals are now in place he will pick up a quill. Before dipping it into the ink well he will look at Mallius. "All I need now is to know if my lodging will be paid for while I wait. Plus is there a place that sales horses here that will give me a good price. Looks like I may be riding if I am traveling with some lords kids."

Aliora takes time to change out of her cold weather outfit and into her monk robes after carefully washing up to look presentable. Afterwards she braided her hair into neat dreadlocks pulled back in a ponytail allowing only her bangs to fall in front of her face, still refusing to cover her eye.

Taking her gear along with her she made her way to the offices slowly admiring the sights of this part of the city. "I have no coin as of present but when I receive payment I will pay you generously." She explained before stepping forth to the guards.

The first few minutes, Shivas slowly traverses the forest where she and Gallian had been, following the muddy hoofprints left by their horses. As the leaf cover becomes denser, she loses the track. Using her memory of the few times she had to travel away from home as a guide, Shivas travels towards her cabin for Four whole hours. Hope was dwindling as she realized she was still a day away travelling at this slow rate.

Then, from the corner of her left eye, she spots the telltale tip of a curved bow jutting out from a bush from 90 feet away. Looking closely, she notes a vaguely humanoid figure there, and is relieved in part that the bow is only slung over their chest, rather than trained on her. They just crouch there, staying completely still, revealing nothing more.

Trake

It is past sunrise when Tarak wakes up to the sound of grunting and munching. Opening his eyes in a flash he slowly looks towards the source of the noise. He notices his backpack, ten feet away, and behind the flap appear the hind legs of a small, brown boar.

Out of Character: Since combat is likely, I'll take an initiative roll. You begin lying down, but as yet unnoticed. You have a Standard and a Move action in combat, the Standard can be downgraded to a Move. Each action you perform also needs a Stealth roll if you wish to do it quietly.
You did it right this time, but in future, I'll be controlling more elements of the game, like nightfall, NPCs, and so on.
Yes, a loaf and half a cheese sound like a full day's meal considering their weight, so to simplify that'll be the price you pay each dinner, if enough remains, ha!
As a point of order, Tarak only knows of an abandoned fort to the south. He doesn't know it is Oleg's for sure, since it was only settled there several months ago and nobody travels during winter.

KNtoran

Theaton holds onto the note the whole time. Mallius returns, brandishing a golden medallion inscribed with a coat of arms, reversed. He pours hot wax from a pot above a candle, and stamps the page. He replies "I wouldn't have it any other way, please stay at our treasury's expense. It will be a pittance compared to the grand plans the higher-ups are putting into action. They gave me so much work, retrieving old maps, setting exploration bounds for the other three groups.

"Horses... Plenty of stables around. I do recommend Peter's stables on Fifth, he trains them hardier and they'll be suited to exploring any terrain. It's a real shame the system is so corrupt that the aristocracy manage to grab all the opportunities first and pass them onto their children. Self perpetuating dishonesty. Keep them in line for me."

Euphoria

The woman looks disheartened for only a second and says, exasperated, "Always promises."

Ailora approaches the left guard through the slight traffic of the street. The right guard taps him on the arm and points to you, muttering, with a wide eyed look of surprise or fear on his eyes.

"Halt!" The left guard commands. "State your name and your business here. Also, who has sent you? And where could you possibly be from?" From this distance you can see stripes on his uniform's sleeves, perhaps some kind of seniority symbol?

The right handed guard has trouble concentrating on his duty as you catch him staring at you, then he quickly looks away... Twice.
