Kesten stands guard while you try searching the area, only finding your own set of tracks, nobody else. The plants show signs of damage in this area, but they do not form an obvious trail away from it.
Out of Character: Survival is used for tracking and most outdoor activities. The knowledge skills are usually used to identify things.
Zork asks Kesten what he thinks the purpose of the orb was... If it was to take them away from discovering something or lead them to the place they should search?
"Do you think it is still there?" He asks.
"No," He replies sternly. "The skull was a bad omen. Hunters sometimes talk of lights dancing at night in the distance. I didn't believe it, until now. It's strange that it occurred in the early morning."
"It is certainly still there. It may even be following us this instant."
"Maybe we should return to the trading post then, who knows what might be going on there and they may need our help. Unless, you want to continue?"
Zork will return to Oleg's if Kesten wishes if not they can keep following the road.
"I have searched this area before. I believe there is nothing."
Kesten takes you back to Oleg's where there is a nice stew that's been prepared for lunch. Everyone but Oleg has finished and gone back to their duties. Oleg pours two bowls and indicates the bench.
"Thank you for this..." Zork sits and eats waiting for an opportunity to talk about what he encountered today to see if the man knows anything of the orb.
"Oh, yes, of course!" Replies Oleg. "Hunters always tell of strange lights at night. All the hunters know to avoid them and those that don't, well, let's say I've never heard their stories. Will-O-Wisps they are. Creatures of legend come alive in the Greenbelt. Just like Tatzlwyms, speaking of which, have I shown you my trophy?"
He leads you into the entrance hall of his house. At the end of the hall hangs a plaque with a large green scaled head, the size of a horse's one, and two clawed hands beside it. If you hadn't been told better, you would've assumed it is a dragon.
Zork thinks about what Ole says and wonders why Kesten did not himself know better about following it.
Now in front of the trophy Zork asks, "Oh what is it? What's the story behind it?"
