My reasons for being here are simple. Searching for input with a human dimension.
I will tend to observe rather than be hugely involved. Not big on closeness .
Never been one for group fuzzies.
I'm middle aged, cautious and slightly cynical.

Pip, welcome to the Community... I guess. That was quite a stand offish intro, but I guess one cannot be too cautious, however, I am a bit confused since if you really do not wish to participate in discussion, but just observe mostly you could have done that without registering.
