Happy New Year!

We have some Members across the globe already celebrating a New Year, and so to you we say, "Happy New Year!", and good fortune for this 2006. In celebration of this era in Community life we have established many new features - look out for them.

New Skin: Animation

The long awaited Animation Skin is here! We thought we would create it for 2006 as something new and improved for the Community. In this Skin you will see rich graphics and a full screen view, something that no other Skin has at this time. We are not finished with it yet, but thought we would run it now to grab all those bugs before the year progresses. If you run into any errors please let us know by Email. Enjoy!

Custom Skin Forums

With the addition of the Animation Skin I am beginning to customize certain Boards to match the Skins. For instance the "Matrix Review Board" will have the Dark Matrix Skin and the "Anime & Comics Board" will have the Animation Skin whenever you view it.

Now there are some pros and cons to this. The pros is that the viewing Member will get a feel for the Board if the Skin relates to it, but the downside is that if the User is on dial-up then things will slow down for them while the new Skin loads. We will see how it goes.

Server Slow Down!

You may or may not have noticed the very slow speed at which our pages have been loading here today. This is due to a problem with the host and is beyond our control. We can only hope they do the necessary as soon as possible to restore normal speeds. We do apologize for the inconvenience.

WHAT IS NEW?
(This is going to be a long one)

First of all, I would like to thank all of you for your recent
posts, comments and contributions in the Animation Theme
explosion that we recently launched. If you have not seen

Many thanks to those of you who have made financial
contributions in 2005 to the growth of the work. Your many
donations helped to cover the expense of domains, servers
and most of all the immense amount of time it takes to run a
Community as big as this. We ask and hope for your continued
support in 2006. In saying so we have a two day out of this
world special that is sure to grab you IF you have been thinking
about upgrading. See text further down below.

Today, I was getting the News Bot to post updated
News. Normally, I would check to see if the topic already
exists to avoid duplication and then give the go ahead.
Usually, the article or report would be new, but as our
Community becomes more like a full data base of great
information I have found that most of what I get now is
along the lines of follow-ups on the same or related stories.
This is a good thing as it means we are filling the expanse
of possible topics one can discuss in an International
Community. Really, is there anything we have not discussed?

Recently, I was wondering if we should have a Board for
Philosophy. If we do it would have to prove to be significantly
different from the Religions and Psychology Boards. If you

Taking Out the Blanks

Sometimes I will see a 2002 post started in a teenie bopper sort of way and the only way to get rid of them is to enter the DB and edit it. I have been doing so and was also surprised to find many blanks (messages with no content) left over from the YaBB change over. I have cleaned these up today. If you find any such posts, please ensure to Email me about it.

Minor Updates

* Drop down menu for Skin selection also includes a link to the Text Only version Skin and the new Portal.

* Zero Replies now shows ALL Boards with unanswered posts rather than just the ones within major Boards. The reason for showing it now is mainly for me to get them answered by either myself or Factual so they do not appear desolate on the Text Only version or other replicates we have around the net that will soon be published.

* Animation Skin Portal has new look.

* Deleted all Members with zero posts.
