When I read this, I could not avoid having this feeling of extreme anger and frustration. This woman just makes SICK and I hope she gets the death penalty or life in prison (if death penalty is not available in that state).
MANASSAS, Virginia (AP) -- A woman pleaded guilty Wednesday to beating to death a 2-year-old girl she had adopted from an orphanage in Siberia.
Peggy Sue Hilt, 33, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, choked back tears as she entered the plea to second-degree murder. She could get up to 40 years in prison at sentencing May 25.
The little girl, Nina, died in Manassas last summer after the family came to Virginia for the Fourth of July. A detective testified that Hilt admitted that she became upset with the girl for crying and dropped her on the floor, kicked her and jumped on her abdomen.
By pleading guilty, Hilt avoided a possible first-degree murder charge and a life sentence...

Yes, I admit this is truly disturbing, especially since this woman went out of her way to adopt this young child. The article talks about the woman not making a bond with the child, which is apparent, but to have the fortitude to beat up a defenseless child the way she did, is beyond my comprehension. Then she has the presence of mind to plead guilty so she doesn't get a life sentence. I hope the judge sees past all of this and opts for the maximum sentence he can give.
