William Shatner
Shatner, famed for playing Captain James T. Kirk, commander of the starship U.S.S. Enterprise in the original "Star Trek" TV series, sold his kidney stone to online casino (name removed) for $25,000. The money will be donated by Shatner to Habitat for Humanity to build houses for the poor.

OK, so this is really gross. I heard about this on the radio yesterday and had to look it up to see if it was real. I'm glad there was a thread about it today, because I would have had to create one myself otherwise. $25,000 for one of Shatners kidneys stones is so over the top crazy trekky (crazy star trek fan) as to rival soccer fans who break down gates and trample people.
Its obvious that many people think someone buying one of his kidney stones is ridiculous, but how many people have thought about Shatner himself? What kind of ego makes someone think that they can sell a kidney stone, for any amount of money? Does he think is his really a starship captain too? Problem is that someone is going to validate his ego by purchasing his kidney stone.
Shatner's raw nerve
After almost 60 years playing iconic characters ranging from Star Trek's captain James T Kirk, crusading cop TJ Hooker to Boston Legal's zany Denny Crane, William Shatner has switched seats, moving from interviewee to interviewer with his new TV talk show Raw Nerve. Ref. Source 4

I saw him on Password and he looked really slower than the contestants. Mind you he is getting on in age, but my real concern was for his size. He seriously looks like at any moment he might have a heart attack, he needs to take care of his health and go on a diet to reduce his weight.
