What is your knowledge of 'Jainism'?
"An ascetic religion of India, founded in the sixth century B.C., that teaches the immortality and transmigration of the soul and denies the existence of a perfect or supreme being."
Ref. Dictionary.com
Jainism is an interesting off shoot of Hinduism. Like hinduism, your souls future is completely dependant on what you do here. Thus, liking a good life and denying certain things to your body (ascetic) will move you towards enlightenment and perfection. However, Hindus believe in Vishnu, Shiva, and Brahma as the three in one supreme being, Jainism denys that existence and is almost closer to Buddhism than it is to Hinduism. However, it came before Buddhism and thus may have also influenced its development as Hinduism and Jainism remain very close in practice but diverge in matters of god.
