I read up on this and the prerequisites are very high but it doesn't actually explain what a domain is so my question is really what constitutes a domain for this spell?

Domains are a cleric Class Feature which may grant them an ability and also grants them a list of additional spells that they can prepare. They can only be prepared in the Domain slot which only holds 1 spell for each spell level.

That's what makes this feat so powerful. It lets the cleric can cast a domain spell at any time, even without preparing it.
