Chess Pieces

Which material do you think is the best for chess pieces:

Brass, copper, wood, glass, plastic or something different?

I think this has to do with the person. I have three chess sets that I like. One is the plastic pieces I play with when playing, I have a fantasy set with pewter figures and the last one is a carved stone set. I still want one more set but have not found the exact one I want to buy yet. SO to say this material is better than that material for a chess set is totaly up to the persons taste and what they want.

Chess Pieces Reviews RPG & Card Board

For me I love marble both for the board and chess pieces. Nice weight and looks nice.

I have a marble chess board. I like it as it has some nice weight to it. It is not being used right now

I think a wooden set is best, chess sets are for playing with not looking at.

I have played games with every set that I own. I feel that chess pieces were meant to be played with but they also look very nice sitting on a shelf for people to look at.

I like wooden pieces. They handle the environment better and can be repaired or replaced easily once you can carve a piece of wood.
