Basically to get over it and know that we are at the hospital. Maybe is also psychological, I am not very keen about coming home with the baby and then take him out for this procedure. I just want everything done (if possible) the same day. I just called the doctor and he said he does not do it anymore, but give me a number to call later with another doctor who practises in the same hospital where I am going to deliver Jonah.
It's unfortunate that circumcision is not a common procedure here. I was reading that it is more of a "cultural" thing. Men in Trinidad seem to be afraid of possible effects on their sexual lives if they become circumcised.

Infants Circumcising

I think it is better for newborn boys to be circumcised. I have heard some countries they even circumcise the girls-any "extra" skin they cut off...that I don't think is right. Some countries wait until the child is an adult. but I think that it's a good thing for boys to be circumcised. There are a lot of benefits to it, because the area won't get infected as easily, it makes it easier for the parent during diaper changes and the child growing up- also so the child won't get made fun of in locker rooms, etc-

As a teenager I remember a nurse femaleing to a friend that everyone was having girls and they were down 2 thousand for the month now this was when it only costed ten bucks for the clip. I later married her daughter and she femaleed when her grandsons were not circumcised until my wife made her shut up.

There is no valid medical reason for doing it or not doing it from the many miles of articles I research before my first boy was born. So I broke the mold and did not circumcise my boys even though I was as a child.

My main reason was my nephew lost sensation in one side of his member due to this particular procedure a close friend also confided to me a similar issue from the same reason. Given that this is a big factor in ones marriage as a newly wed my wife looked at me and said no way. She then talked to friends of hers who's husbands were not circumcised and found no issues there. I know only one man at the age of 78 had to get it done due to prostrate issues. His comments to me was at least I was able to have freezing and pain killers after what do babies get?

Now dear dads I will comment on this if you take the path of leaving mother nature along be prepared to show your boy how to stay clean! It is not easy it does take diligence but if you do what you are required your boy will be healthy as can be. I have also read studies where uncircumcised men as less likely to contract STDS if they do make an error in judgment. That was just an interesting point I found not a reason to base you decision on.

I will also comment my doctor was of no help during this other then he said just keep it clean . I often ponder if that old bloke had any children and if he did I bet his wife did every thing for him.

konquererz your comment on the shot is interesting and I will ad that neither of my boys even whimpered at the shots but were grumpy after due to the ill side effect ie slight temperature and painful swelling. Also note their mother gets the same side effect were I never do.
