Play While Others Watch
Do you feel uncomfortable playing a game of Chess while people are around watching you? If it is 5 people does it make a difference? What about if it is 10, 20 or a room filled with known champions?
In most cases I have to say no it does not bother me at all to have people watch me while I play. I do not believe that the number of people watching really makes a difference at all either. I can play for fun or I can play just for the win, but if there is anyone watching.... If I am playing for fun then I do not anticipate anyone really paying very much attention to my style of play thus there is nothing to be bothered about. And if I am playing in a serious to win environment then I will be paying much more attention to the game thus I pay a lot less attention to the people in my surroundings. I will have to say that in a room full of known champions I will be a little bit more pressured and nervous. Chess champions will easily pick up on how I play the game. This is something that anyone whom competes will never forget to do even if they do not do it in a conscious manner. I will then be much more cautious about thinking of my next move not wanting to make a fool our of myself by making a stupid mistake.
