Hands On: StarCraft 2
Precious few games exhibit the kind of refined balance, complexity and versatility to be played competitively by full-time professionals, and only one has had the staying power to be played in stadiums at full capacity - and broadcast on television to millions more - twelve years after its release. I had the first version somewhere around and then I think the CD got cracked and I had to chuck it. I totally played Starcraft over and over again, all the missions all the sample missions and then downloaded some from the net. I'm really looking forward to seeing what Starcraft 2 is going to be like.
Hands on: StarCraft II singleplayer
The city of Irvine in Orange County, California, is almost wholly unappealing. Built by the Irvine Corporation in the 1960s, the branded municipality is 69 square miles of sprawling, empty parking lots and sunbathed sidewalks completely bereft of pedestrians. Ref. Source 6

'StarCraft II' is launched for a whole new era
It's not as if the original, which was released in 1998, ever really faded away. Publisher Blizzard Entertainment sold more than 9 million copies worldwide, and millions still play it online. StarCraft became so popular in South Korea that professional competitions are still televised and top players are stars.
With the game getting a modern-day makeover, players will see a marked improvement in the look. In addition to StarCraft II's movie-quality cinematics and cut scenes, its three-dimensional game environments and characters far surpass the original's 2-D graphics. Ref. Source 9
