Did you ever meet someone who can be described this way? In my country, there are quite a few. They feel they need to tell you about their latest material acquisitions and if you don't drool over their latest gadgets or fancy house, they accuse you of being envious. Very frustrating. How do you deal with this kind of people?

Yes, I met a few and I lost friendships over it as well. Some people just have the need to show you how much money they make or how big is their house because deep inside they are very insecure and materialistic so by stating those things they feel superior than you. I feel sad for them.
