I agree with the police officer for one simple reason. When he asked the soldier what is he doing with the rifle, instead of answering the question, the man asked the cop if it does it matter. Of course it matters!
Why didn't he answer the question? Then when the cop tried to take away the riffle from him, he resisted. Now, I totally understand that it is legal in Texas to carry weapons like that and I agree what the police officer did was illegal, however, the soldier's attitude could have been perceived as suspicious because of his reluctance to comply with the police officer.
Both of them were wrong.
