Raw Food, Less Water

Raw food, less water

When you start eating more raw foods, you may find you"re not as thirsty or don't need as much water or other beverages as you normally do. There are several reasons for this.
First of all, raw foods, such as raw fruits and vegetables have a higher volume of water in them, so your body is getting the hydration it needs from foods.

This doesn't mean you should stop drinking water or juices. You don't want to adopt some of the more radical elements of the raw food trend. First and foremost, listen to your body. It will tell you what it needs. If you"re overweight, sluggish, tired, depressed, your body might be telling you to make some dietary changes, and raw foods might be one way to alleviate some physical disorders.

But if you"re overweight and have symptoms of Type II diabetes, overwhelming thirst can be one symptom. When you start consuming more raw foods, with a higher fiber and moisture content, you may start to lose weight, and that can go a long way to reducing your blood sugars.

If you"re not overweight, or don't have Type II diabetes, you still might find you"re not as thirsty as you normally are. First of all, if you"re drinking water and juices, you"re not consuming caffeine, which is so dehydrating and makes you thirstier. And by not consuming as much in the way of cooked foods or especially highly processed foods, which have astronomical sodium counts, you won't be as thirsty either.

By consuming more raw, uncooked food, and pure water and fruit juices, you"re putting your body into balance. Keeping sodium to normal levels found in foods means you"ll start to require a more balanced amount of water. Don't think of this as changing or taking away. Think of it as adding balance, and it will make the process of eating healthier much easier.

It seems to me that if you are adding more fiber to your diet with raw foods you would need more not less water. Otherwise you may end up with a plumbing problem.

I think if you eat a lot of raw fruits and veggies you may be able to cut down on some water as the juice in the fruits can give you plenty of moisture to keep yourself well hydrated.

Yes Klar fruit fiber is moist already and you body takes some of it but some stays in the waste to make a softer stool. If you are eating high dry fibers like grains and nuts then you need to drink more as they can cause issues.

Stewed prunes in apple sauce will cure any issues any person has in bowel movements.

I think apples are neat as you can eat tons of them and never have to run for the bath room unlike citrus fruits that are so moist and with so much fiber that you have issues.

A good example of this is the fruit diet for cleansing. If you eat many fruits, especially high water content ones like: watermelon, pineapple, grapes and citrus then you will likely not need to drink water for that day, at least I do not.

Watermelon, grapes, oranges and bananas are the fruits I like to eat a lot of. I Try to eat a few carrots and celery with them to get more fiber. I usually do not drink much this way as I get a lot from the fruit intake.

Only think is we are to drink 10 to 12 glasses of water if losing weight to encourage the cells to flush from the veggie scrubbing them up.

I use the rule if it yellows make it mellow. So drink a bit more water till clears up. Sometimes it is your body dumping junk from the trunk and just needs a take more flushing. My enemy is coffee. 3 a day now used to 5. I use it to beat headaches soem times. (neck injury )

The best thing I did was give up caffeine. Using caffeine as a way to cure a pain I do not believe is a good thing. I use mind over my body to clear up any aches as much as I can. It takes practice but it can be done.

I also drink water to clear up the yellow. I feel the body is well hydrated when it is clear coming out.
