The more these foreign franchises open in Trinidad the cheaper it becomes to buy food from outside our home, but at the same time if there is so much competition that they can no longer afford to be open then they have to close their doors and leave the country. My question is... Who do you think will be the next foreign franchise to close?
My feeling is that it will be Domino's Pizza and or Papa John's. The Pizza Market is clearly over-saturated and Trinidadians would not abandon Mario's and Pizza Hut for the new comers. Some franchises have already closed: Captain D's, the place that sells fried seafood (Name escapes me) Tony Roma's on Cipriani Boulevard, the place with the sexy waitresses in St. Clair (Name escapes me)
It might be Domino's over Papa Johns. If they can all stay that will be great but the drawback is the importation of franchise specific branding.
I still see Dominos in Trinidad before and it was open as well that time. But I am not really sure if they are really going to be the ones to close down in this island.
