Baptism of Christ to feature on coins
An image of Christ's immersion in water by John the Baptist will be shown on Maltese euro coins, reflecting the cultural heritage of the deeply religious Mediterranean island, officials said Thursday.

I don't see how this can qualify as blasphemy. The image on the coin is more of a commemorative coin situation in which they want to remember this specific event. Its not going to be worshipped or anything that would qualify it as a graven image as some are saying. In fact, much worse has made its way into the church in the past. I think the coin is just fine and should represent what the islanders believe.
I feel indifferent about this:
1. On one hand it is good to promote such an important event
2. On the other hand those same coins may buy drugs, prostitutes, gambling time, etc.
I am actually surprised when such religious happenings are made official tender seeing how diversified the world has become.
