'RED SHOES' BALLERINA DEAD AT 80
Moira Shearer, the ballerina and actress whose debut film, "The Red Shoes," created an international sensation in 1948, has died, her husband said Wednesday. She was 80.

Moira Shearer started out wanting to be a ballerina, but ultimately ended up giving up that dream at just 27. She went into film 1948, her first being the hit "The Red Shoes" but did not make many movies after that. She was in seven films during her lifetime with her last being "A Simple Man", a made for TV movie airing in 1987.
