Prepackaged salad mix appears to be the cause of an outbreak of food poisoning caused by a rare parasite that started Iowa and Nebraska and may have sickened more than 370 people in 16 states, Iowa's top food inspector said Tuesday.

Just because it is in a bag doesn't mean it is safe. In our home we wash all our vegetables. Personally I soak it in bleach or wash it with soap - yes - the hands that handled those vegetables probably handled things you wouldn't like to know about while you're eating!
Now we all have to think twice when having vegetables now because who knows if some of them has dangerous parasites that may affect some of us, that is why we all should all wash them good so we all don't get infected by those nasty things.
