I'm really sorry. Regarding the links, I thought external links. Never dawned on me that posting an internal link was a problem. Would you mind explaining why this is an issue? (If that is [explained], I'll see why when I read the policy again) Also, sorry about the posting to a closed thread. Since I was able to view the content I wrongly assumed it was open. Anyway, I am no longer traveling and can spend more time looking into protocol.
Hi Redcloud! As you wait for your character to be approved there are many options around the community you can explore: discussions, Arcade, role-playing games where you do not have to wait on a GM, add your photos, etc. Yes, do read, it will give you a better idea of how the community is managed and what is expected from everyone.
Hey, I have a few questions that you might be able to help me with. I was hoping for a GM to take a look at one of my character sheets, and I asked him how to do this, expecting there to be a problem with the posting of external links (Because I ran into this earlier). Can you clarify why this is such a problem? Honestly, I totally get the idea for a free space to converse with respect and clarity. I am a literature professor at a university, and I constantly run up against how anonymity brings out the worst in people. So, I am not trying to be sneaky or anything like that (And an external link to a public folder is still public). But, I was hoping if you could explain the rationale for such a measure, especially when a player wishes for a GM to take a look at a document. Again, I am not trying to be resistant or contrarian. I am just a bit baffled. I haven't ever been banned from a forum. I haven't ever run afoul of moderators. But I get the sense that I am messing up here, and I'd really like to understand better. As far as I can tell, I couldn't find anything about why external links are banned. Thanks! And sorry for the trouble!

Redcloud, you said you had a few questions but I only saw one and the rest seems to be a complaint. If you have really read that Constructive Posting Policy then you should have seen:
Thanks for the speedy reply. I guess I was confused because, technically, a hyperlink to a document/file on an open web server is public. I wasn't asking him for a private conversation. I wasn't giving him any private information. I was asking him to simply click a link, which anyone else could do in the thread, and view the document. So, this is why I had the disconnect. And I am certainly not trying to debate these rules. Just trying to understand. I am still confused as to why this is a problem. And now I am very curious. So please don't take this the wrong way and think I am being priggish or a pain. I promise, I'm not. If we're simply talking about an issue to encourage people to upgrade, I get it. But it seems we're talking about a protocol issue designed for better communication, and that's why I'm inquiring--because I simply wanted a better way for him to review my character sheet. Sorry for the trouble!
