Have you ever had one doctor diagnose your child with ADHD and then when you saw another doctor he diagnoses ADD? What about if you got a third opinion and got a diagnosis of something other than ADD or ADHD - what would you do?

Diagnosis Different

I think that a diagnosis is only as thorough as the physician pronouncing. That said, there are certain criteria one must meet to be classified under the DSM, however that is unfortunately open to interpretation. I believe the two diagnoses are close enough that it's a matter of the physician seeing the patient on one day versus another. I'd personally have diaries of the patient's behaviour reviewed before one or the other was settled upon.
