You often read about a Ministry of Government in Trinidad & Tobago owing people or saying they don't have funds right now. When you hear billion dollar budgets with each Ministry getting a part it makes you wonder how does the Government pay for things?How Does The T&T Government Pay For Things?
How Does The T&T Ministries Pay For Things?
I tried to put this issue in layman's terms. The Government claims billion dollar budgets with part of that going towards each Ministry, but yet these same Ministries cannot pay bills or cannot start new projects. They are always in the "Process" Of allocating the money. What is the cause of this? Is the national budget's figures for each Ministry entirely a rough estimate or is it actual money they have to be spent for their Ministry.
This is NOT unique to any one party or Government. It seems that with each Government the SAME thing is said. Yet it is amazing that with a drop of a hat a fete or celebration can be organized in days that may cost millions.
