I have a pile of Arabic calligraphy books, which I suppose is a little different from the norm. I'm learning the language, and I forever had an awful time memorizing the script. With these books, the Arabic alphabet is morphed from a hazardous chore to beautiful artwork...And that makes me much more likely to study!

We started doing calligraphy in our art class at school years ago, but the teacher became ill, so we only learnt how to do half the alphabet,
so I can write a letter, as long as I don't have to use past the letter 'N' in it!
In fifth or sixth grade we got calligraphy pens to practice handwriting, but I didn't really get far in that. The other time I had to write calligraphy was in tenth grade for Art history/apprec. I couldn't write it now since I don't practice... although I may still have the papers that I wrote on that could be used as a reference.
