Its a careful walk back as his prey is very heavy. Tanis begins to think in a horse. He will need one the next time he comes out here, he may have to pay a visit to the horse handler when he gets back.
Upon entering the village Tanis sees everyone with hungry eyes looking at his catch. In Tanis' eyes are gold, he knows this hunt has already been successful. He makes his way to his humble home and sets his kill to hang as he strips the best portions first.
Speaking softly to himself as he strips the meat from the carcass,
"Maybe I will go around the village and offer everyone a taste so they can get a sample of what I'm offering. This will definitely make them come running for more."
He chuckles for a bit thinking that most everyone has been eating vegetables and fruits for far too long.
At home Tanis is very tired. After a day of hunting and then trying to sell the meat he is about ready to sleep. He makes a stew first, nothing like sleeping on a full tummy. He rubs his stomach and licks his lips as it cooks.
He woofs the whole thing down in no time at all and wonders why eating is always faster than the preparation that goes into it. Now full, he goes to his cot and rests himself.
Not before too long passes and he is dreaming. He does not have a good sleep. He dreams that while he is hunting someone is watching him. Tanis jumps up suddenly and rubs his tummy.
"I should wait a bit before I sleep" He says to himself.
Tanis stands and stretches. He goes into the garden nearby to see if by chance there are some mint or peppermint leaves he can put between his teeth to relieve himself.
"What luck!" Tanis says as he sees a mint plant hidden. He breaks off a few leaves and lets it sooth him.
